Land Acknowledgment
The Newmarket Historical Society acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe peoples, whose presence here continues to this day. We honour and acknowledge this land and its people. Additionally, as stewards of Newmarket’s history, we recognize the important role our organization plays in honouring the history of all peoples, and commit to doing so as inclusively as possible.
